In 2002, Eric Beeghly left his job as a web designer to become the
assistant farm-manager of a small organic farm and orchard
in the foothills of Mt. Diablo. With the dream of someday
starting his own farm, he also began coursework in horticulture
at Merritt College. He soon realized that he could combine
his love of design with his passion for farming. It was this
passion that earned him a position as a teaching-assistant in
the department. He has since resigned as farm-manager and teaching-assistant
to focus on ecological, edible landscaping and design in the field.
